Oleg Cassini was known to be the Couturier of Camelot and dressed Jacqueline Kennedy on many, many occasions. This is a beautiful example of his early work during that time period and has that coveted "Jackie O" look and feel with its perfect cut and simplicity of design. Dresses from this time period can be deceptively simple but are cut exceedingly well so that they really give a girl a beautiful, sexy silhouette and still have a look of lady-like refinement. It is made of a linen cotton mix, heavy enough to give it weight and structure but not so heavy as to feel uncomfortable when on. It is entirely embroidered with a light yarn and the design is set on the dress to add to the illusion of curves. I love the peaked front of the bodice and the slim skirt. His older pieces in such great excellent condition are hard to find as they where cherished and worn to pieces. Excellent condition
